Very funny work-around for my wife's Dell Pavilion DV3: !sudo vi /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf At end, I added this: options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m4-1 Then, save and reboot.
Music, finally! Lol, model=dell-m4-1. Okay, it must be that this Dell model has the same audio chipset as my wife's notebook. Good thing for me too!
