My concern with 0666 is that it means any process can consume the GPU.
And invisibly because they are no longer guaranteed to be a login with
an obvious entitlement to the display.
IMHO the best middleground would be to grant remote/headless logins the
same access as local logins. Keep it at 0660.

Note that comment #26 has a more general fix (define has_option() in an
Xsession.d file if it's not already defined). There appear to be various
other X session scripts likewise neglecting to define it.

Personally I've only found Lunar Lake to work reliably with Ubuntu 25.04
