The new issue has moved to bug 2114116 now. IIRC, shutdown splash is affected by what happened during startup. That is whether or not the console had to be taken over to display any messages during startup, or whether you used text mode switching to any VTs.
Another issue is speed. If Plymouth doesn't need to be displayed for very long then I think it's optimised to not display anything. And it does seem to be a bit faster in Questing than Plucky. Still, please use bug 2114116 now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2113455 Title: Boot splash is missing since plymouth 24.004.60-2ubuntu8 Status in plymouth package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: After updated to questing (25.10 dev branch), there is no plymouth boot screen.
