The point is that "game 0" is sheer nonsense. It does not mean
anything. It can't mean anything. Nobody understands what it means.

Let's summarize things we seem to agree:
- The main icon might be changed.
- The icon upper left in the program windows should be changed, if
technically possible, to match the main icon.
- Icons within the main windows can be changed.
- Startup window can be off by default (it might pop-up in case

First of all, thanks to you Alexander, and also to others, for the
answers. As a common user, it is always nice to have attention from
the developers and from other users, even though we can disagree on
many points. Also, thanks for getting my feedback in the right way.

Hi,
I wonder if Pascal ever gets tired of our complains.
I found out that under Options -> Windows -> Save layout
one can actually do what I was requesting. I set up my layout as I want
it, with the board, pgn window and engine in docked mode and I saved the
layout as default and scid remembere
Let's concede that point for argument's sake. How does that relate to
Bruno suggestions? It simply does not.
So Alex' concern quoted above is just another way to mention his old
beef against docking mode. Yes, changing the GUI could lead to worse.
We can generalize this argument to prove that co

Alex,
We all can understand that there were reasons why Scid looks the way
it is. Still, even you should know Bruno is right on all counts. He
is so much right that it's not even worth discussing.
Best regards

Arguably ugly. Still it's the one that is there since ... ages.

Hi everybody,
(I wrote a message on this list 2 weeks ago. Posting as a non-member

Hi all,
I have just realized that while annotating many games, scid will stop if it
finds a game with mate. Is this the intended behavior?
Example, say I have 2 games to annotate in batch mode.
If the first game finishes with mate, scid will not continue to the next game,
the engine stops and
