Sorry if this question is silly :D
I'm using RedHat Linux 8.0 now, and I just found out that my aucTeX do
not work in my XEmacs. I have used it in RedHat 7.2 and Debian. I wonder
if there are some thing wrong in the RedHat default configuration? Or I
have to do something else?

It's included in the Red Hat Linux Powertools. Check ftp.redhat.com.

In 20.4 the tex-site.el file is in /usr/lib/xemacs-20.4/lisp/auctex
directory. Maybe it wasn't included in the rpm. I think you should be
able to download the auctex package from xemacs.org (this should include
that file).

I just upgraded my xemacs packages from 20.4 to the 21.1.4-2 RPM on
the 6.1 Powertools CD. It appears as though the Auctex package (for
editing TeX files) is included in the package (as it was before),
however I cannot figure out how to invoke it. Including

Hello W. J. Kossler:
You have run into the same problem I hit with xemacs.
I have found a way to get RedHat xemacs rpm files to work.
Download the xemacs files that appear in the powertools directory,
and not those that appear in the contrib/i386 directory. On my system
these installed
Having upgraded to 5.0 I'm having trouble installing xemacs.
I saw a posting recently with a similar problem, but saw no
answer.
I've downloaded xemacs-el-20.4-1.i386.rpm and if I try to rpm -i it
I get:
failed dependencies:
xemacs = 20.4 is needed by xemacs-el-20.4-1
XEmacs is distributed as part of the powertools.

I belelieve (I'm pretty sure) that these rpms are for Xwindows support of
emacs. XEmacs is a different program altogether.

XEmacs is distributed with RHL. In 5.1 the file is:
emacs-X11-20.2-7.i386.rpm
in 5.0 it is:
emacs-X11-20.2-4.i386.rpm
and in 4.2 it is:
emacs-X11-19.34-4.i386.rpm
During installation you have the option of installing it. If you missed it
just install it pointing to
Could someone please show explain to us why the XEmacs editor
is not distributed with Red Hat Linux?
Things would be easier for those who has it as his preferred
editor if it was distributed.

Hi,
I'm having trouble with XEmacs' c-mode. The extended keyboard 'Del' key
is behaving exactly like the BackSpace (only in c-mode). Obviously, this
mode must have the Del key mapped to some command other than
'delete-char'.
What I do is include in my ~/.emacs
