Well I got in with a bash prompt, edited the the file. Rebooted, but I still get Login incorrect. I have tried root, and several regular user names and get the same result. I also get the same when I try telnet. Currently the only way to get in is ftp. What am I missing. What is screwed up?

My inetd.conf file got hosed. Right now all I can do is ftp in. Cant' login from console or telnet or ssh2. I have tried a re-install without formatting. Don't want to loose some things. Does anyone have any ideas on how to replace the intd.conf with a new one when you can't ftp as root? Than
