I didn't mean the age of the config, I meant the SVN revision von E17 you used
prior to the one that now ate your config...

Config is at most a month old. Any ideas what might be causing it to die?
Going to have to check on my other couple of systems and see if it happens
there as well.

I like his suggestion of the transparent window with just a tail or multitail
running within. I just didn't think of doing it that way. Simple and
root-tail-less.
And ... really ... who is ever going to use anything else that E17 once (s)he
used it

Howdy All -
So I compiled and installed the latest SVN code today and when I restarted E
i discovered that it continued to segfault on me. I wiped my .e settings and
tried again - still seg faults.
I've pin-pointed the issue, I have a custom default profile to the icon
theme and such are altered
Hi Michael,
I found the time to do some more troubleshooting on my current machine.
I'm trying to explain my results here in detail, if there's anything you
don't understand please/ reproduce just ask me for more details ;-)
First of all, logging on @/dev/tty1 and starting e17 via 'startx' works

I told you that the result could be ugly. I had used something like your

the root-tail command I posted works. However, it seems to writ text-over-text -

Carsten, is there a way to have legacy apps such as root-tatil work in E17?
Could E17 catch alternations to the X root-window and display them in a way t
Well for starters I only have a core 2 duo, but that compiles everything up in
20ish minutes.
That being said, the thing that takes the longest is the setupping debian
control files properly. That takes me 5-10 minutes per package.

Hey 'P' :)
That one works:
root-tail .xsession-errors -id `xwininfo -root -tree | grep "Enlightenment
Background" | awk '{ print $1 }'`
Thanks for the hint!

Hey folks,
what just came up again is that I tried to use root-tail with E17 some time ago
but it didn't work. I'd like to use it. I know that there's 'conky' but that's
not what I'd like to run.
Is there anyone who has root-tail running or has a hint on why E17 doesn't allow

Oh yeah, it would be spectacular if $PYTHON was written to editje-bin
shebang... archlinux is py3k by default so any variation of `python` doesn't
work; we have a python2 binary that I export for building.

hello,
i use a small ~20 line wrapper around the easy_e17 script to create
rolling builds every few days or so. editje (which is incredible btw)
would always fail during `make install` with this:
