smells to me like this should be templated and scripted by now. i.e. just run a
scrip;t to "fix up control files for release X" where X ids just the version
you input as an arg. anything i do often enough to become "painful" i turn into
scripts so it becomes mindless 2, 3 or 4 letter commands.
