I install XFree86 4.2.0 after a fresh installation. I tried install the
3.3.6 then upgrade to 4.2.0 and not install 3.3.6 then fresh install
4.2.0.They both have the same result. when the installer run "ldconfig" Two
error happen:

You could always boot into single user mode (add "single" or "s" to

Hello all. I've got this weird problem with ntpd. Up until now I've never
had ntpd fail me. But on this one box I've got the clock speeding up by 30
minutes each day. I've got ntpd installed and configured properly with
working ntp servers. In fact, ntpdate sets the clock properly, but ntpd is
fail
Enabling the logfile in ntp.conf doesn't show anything special, just the
same start/stop stuff from daemon.log:

2.2.20-idepci kernel, and decided it was time to upgrade.

If anyone else has this
I just installed qmail a few weeks back.. the machine then had just an eth0
and ppp0 connection.
But recently I just installed an eth1 card, and now have another network
running on it.
I straight away redid my tcpserver file that allows machines of certain ip's
to relay mail off my smtp server.
Yes I have told qmail that relaying for my 192.168.1.x address range is
allowed. Recreated the cdb file and then restarted it all.
The 192.168.1.x addresses all have reverse delegations and all nslookup both
ways correctly.
Qmail is just being a right pain.. and I cannot figure out why

Qmail fixed.. I found my problem... my syntax in my tcpserver tcp.smtp file
was slightly incorrect.. how stupid am I. Shows how asleep I was when I
fixed it all lastnight.

What happen to the wonderful PIIX4 support on the new 2.2.9 kernel. I get
messages using non 100% native mode. And now the cdrom is not detected at
all. Yet my hdd is detected fine.
Any ideas?

Excuse my ignorance.. but I am still only new at Debian and Dselect. But
don't you have to select the install method from within dselect, with the
cdrom unmounted, as dselect upon selecting the media inwhich you will be
installing from will then procede to mount the cdrom where it would li
