hi:
I install XFree86 4.2.0 after a fresh installation. I tried install the
3.3.6 then upgrade to 4.2.0 and not install 3.3.6 then fresh install
4.2.0.They both have the same result. when the installer run "ldconfig" Two
error happen:
Updating the fonts.dir file in
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/local.../usr/X11R6/bin/mkfontdir: error in loading
shared libraier: libXfont.so.1:cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory.
Updating the fonts.dir file in
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc.../usr/X11R6/bin/mkfontdir: error in loading
shared libraier: libXfont.so.1:cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory.
then it said install complate and then i go to /usr/X11R6/bin run XFree86
-configure, then fail and said a log generate.
I tried Manula install too. but when i do ./extract -C /usr/X11R6
X[a-df-uw-z]*.tgz it said cannot extract Xdoc.tgz and terminate.
Two days ago i slove my network card problem then this one comein....
