Hello all,
I'm trying to get my SB Live to work with Debian 2.2 and ALSA. The ALSA
that ships with Debian 2.2 doesn't appear to have the driver I need for
the SB Live. So I have a few questions.
1. I directed apt to get stuff from the unstable branch which has an
ALSA that has

You'll need to select "Set version information on all symbols for modules" in
the Loadable Module Support section when you compile your kernel.

As I wrote in m
You didn't compile sound support into the kernel did you? Also, this
kernel doesn't work if you are using a kernel with SMP enabled. For the
driver to work sound support has to be compiled as a module
(soudcore.o) and SMP has to be disabled.

Hi,
I try to get my new Creative SB Live! 1024 soundcard to work with
esound (for GNOME). It seems to work only with ALSA, but the newer
version 0.5, not the older one. I have successfully compiled the alsa
modules from the alsa-sources deb, the card works from the command
line, but then I
I have seen several recent posts from people who could not get their SB Live
card to work under Linux. If you have problems with this card, you might

I made a fatal mistake...
I added /usr/src/linux/include/linux :((
So I can't compile it.
Thanks for your help.
It sounds very nice ;-)

Hi!
There are still problems with the SB Live kernel module.
I have added the following lines...
Makefile:
-I/usr/src/linux/include to the line
CFLAGS += -I$(INCLUDEDIR) -I.
newline--> CFLAGS += -I$(INCLUDEDIR) -I. -I/usr/src/linux/include

Sorry, forget it: the PB was comming from the include directories
as many people, I began with 2.0.36, which is always set in /usr/include;
so I just changed, in Makefi
