I don't know anything about the root cause of the problem, but FWIW someone just reported problems with asfxload and kernel 2.6.5 on the rosegarden-user list. The circumstances and symptoms aren't exactly the same, but it makes two of you having problems with this card and this kernel. I'm inclined to suggest you try 2.6.6 unless you know of some compelling reason not to do so. (I haven't looked at the new kernel at all yet, so all I have is second-hand information.
