Good news! I got partly success with this issue. Now volume upand down is
workiing in KDE, but still NOT screen brightness.
What did I do?
I first created a new user and then could see, volume is working. After that I
moved some directories from my old user away.

I have tried kernel 3.12 and then the recently released 3.13 in sid without
any luck.
The thing is that, from time to time, suspend works (maybe 1 out of 15
attempts) for whatever reasons.

I installed debian wheezy on dell latitude D531 laptop and I can't
resume from suspend (black screen) and the system seems to be
froozen...: fan goes on... I have to switch off the computer..
