I had a British Latitude D430, and I had: XKBMODEL="latitude" XKBLAYOUT="gb" XKBVARIANT="" XKBOPTIONS="compose:caps,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp" BACKSPACE="guess" after I substituted for this line: XKBOPTIONS="caps:none,compose:menu,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp" > I've tried "pc105" (default) and "latitude" and neither echo the hash > symbol (Shift-3) nor the pipe character. What language is your keyboard, what do those keys type, and where is your pipe key? Cheers, David.
