Note that debhelper contains commands to do the mime and desktop stuff.

while running archive wide piuparts tests your package failed on purge
because of debconf beeing unavailable during postrm:

Looks like the best bet is to user userdel and groupdel from passwd
instead. I'll make the changes and get it kicked out.
