Package: postfix Version: 2.4.0-1 Followup-For: Bug #416765 Hello,
Postfix doesn't start on my system either. It worked fine for several years, but since the last upgrade, it doesn't start. I tried /etc/init.d/postfix start. It says: Starting Postfix Mail Transport Agent: postfix. However, it's not started. Moreover, there's no error message in any file of /var/log Nicolas. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.20.4 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages postfix depends on: ii adduser 3.102 Add and remove users and groups ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.13 Debian configuration management sy ii dpkg 1.13.25 package maintenance system for Deb ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdb4.5 4.5.20-1 Berkeley v4.5 Database Libraries [ ii libsasl2-2 2.1.22.dfsg1-8 Authentication abstraction library ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8e-4 SSL shared libraries ii lsb-base 3.1-23.1 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii netbase 4.29 Basic TCP/IP networking system ii ssl-cert 1.0.14 Simple debconf wrapper for openssl Versions of packages postfix recommends: ii balsa [mail-read 2.3.13-2 An e-mail client for GNOME ii iceape-mailnews 1.0.8-4 Iceape Mail & Newsgroups and Addre ii mailx [mail-read 1:8.1.2-0.20050715cvs-1 A simple mail user agent ii mutt [mail-reade 1.5.13-3 text-based mailreader supporting M -- debconf information: * postfix/mailname: reno.oxstone.com postfix/tlsmgr_upgrade_warning: * postfix/append_dot_mydomain: true postfix/db2_db3_upgrade: true * postfix/relayhost: * postfix/procmail: true postfix/bad_recipient_delimiter: postfix/rfc1035_violation: false * postfix/mynetworks: 127.0.0.0/8 postfix/protocols: all * postfix/master_upgrade_warning: true postfix/db_upgrade_warning: true * postfix/dynamicmaps_upgrade_warning: true * postfix/recipient_delim: + * postfix/main_mailer_type: Internet with smarthost postfix/transport_map_warning: * postfix/chattr: false * postfix/root_address: NONE * postfix/mydomain_warning: true * postfix/destinations: reno.oxstone.com, localhost.oxstone.com, localhost postfix/nqmgr_upgrade_warning: postfix/not_configured: * postfix/mailbox_limit: 0 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
