Setting the /etc/sound.conf to use pulseaudio as default fixed the
problem of no sound on Flashplayer 10 for me. My sound.conf is below.
The last two stanzas are the relevant ones to set the default to

All previous linux-image-2.6 packages after linux-image-2.6.30 have
the bug, making the kernel unbootable and very difficult to
debug. I suspect the new pata drivers fixed the problem.

The log in problem with gmail contacts agent is solved by
copying the new libgmail-0.1.6.1 lgconstants.py and libgmail.py into
