Good pickup, Roderich. But, your script alteration still, for me, results in some black space where the terminal text has not written. This is fixed by editing command lines and refreshing the terminal. I use a custom background. It does not have all the black space like the Debian supplied desktop-grub, so you may be not seeing the problem completely?
