I'm experiencing this bug too, although it seems to be a kernel bug really.
For me, the workaround stated in bug #428756 (#426738 respectively) fixed
the issue:
Boot the kernel with the parameter "clocksource=pit".

Since there's no possibility to power off terminal using XDMCP login

The prctl get/set unalign calls are available on PowerPC as of 2.6.18.
The following patch fixes the control file to match.

OK, thanks for testing that out with a couple of different setups. It
gives me a pretty good idea of what's going on. I'll look into it.
Cheers,

This turns out to be a typo in the dpkg-buildpackage usage() call.
Fixed in CVS for dpkg-cross 1.39.

I get these too daily,

I have an idea: instead of just warning, why doesn't the script take
some action to fix up the problem, so yes, the user will still get the
message, but only once, and

One method of doing this could be to let the site-wide config include
the user-specific config where it exists.
I'll be experimenting with this setup in emdebian-tools.

Whilst the -X exclude option in dpkg-cross >= 1.38 does not support
wildcards, it can be repeated to exclude multiple packages from the
dependencies of the cross package.
This option does allow you to exclude gcc-4.0 or any specific package.
apt-cross uses this option to exclude all Architecture:

I was able to work around the missing apache2-ssl-certification this way
(and posted about it in my blog
http://suppressingfire.livejournal.com/24056.html ):
1. sudo apt-get install apache2
2. sudo a2enmod ssl
3. sudo mkdir /etc/apache2/ssl
4. sudo openssl req $@ -config /usr/s
This is fixed in DSA-1329-1. Just reported here for reference.
