[Bug 1368402] Re: GTK3 apps doesn't understand natural scrolling in Xubuntu
I patched gtk3 to inverse scrolling and created a package. This works in all gtk3 apps, so now I have got natural scrolling everywhere. But the downside is that it's not possible to toggle natural scrolling. It's only possible to get back the default scrolling by reinstalling the official libgtk-3-0. It would be fairly easy to implement a check for a gsettings flag that could toggle natural scrolling. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1368402 Title: GTK3 apps doesn't understand natural scrolling in Xubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xfce4-settings/+bug/1368402/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1368402] Re: GTK3 apps doesn't understand natural scrolling in Xubuntu
@Yanpas, sure, but use at your own risk :-) dpkg -i the .deb. Then hold it if you want to prevent apt from overwriting with at new version if it becomes available. I use aptitude. sudo aptitude hold libgtk-3-0. amd64 .deb attached as well as my patch. The patch in the current form is only a workaround, not a suggested official fix, because it doesn't allow for toggling natural scrolling. Public bug reported: I just installed Knot 2 from the x86 live CD, and it left the system in an unbootable state. It didn't generate the proper menu.lst. I set up my ubuntu partition on /dev/sdb1 (since Ubuntu has started to call regular PATA hdds sd* instead of hd*), but the menu.lst generated references (hd0,0) which in this case is /dev/sda1 and the root parameter is set to /dev/hda1 (which doesn't exist on my system). [Bug 88512] Re: python2.5-minimal breaks update from Edgy to Feisty
Well, due to the botched upgrade, the system in question is rather broken now - Most of my programs work but window management is broken. My problem yesterday did not produce a main.log file. I seem to have run into a different issue today, but that might just be because the system is thoroughly by now. In any case, I will attach the main.log produced by it. As the new bug prevents me from reproducing the old one, I have tried to do it manually ("sudo aptitude install python2.5-minimal"), and this gets me the attached error-message. After reading the error message, I tried removing python-docutils and that lets me install python2.5-minimal without problems. I need to post this now, since I cannot retry the upgrade process without closing Firefox. I will also post the main.log from the other issue, though I suspect that might have been fixed by way of fixing the other problem. In any case, I'll post the main.log in my next comment. ** Attachment added: "Error when installing python2.5-minimal" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6579587/python-install-failure.txt -- python2.5-minimal breaks update from Edgy to Feisty https://launchpad.net/bugs/88512 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

As mentioned in the kerneltrap thread above, all that is needed to get the 88E8056 NIC working is to add an entry for the card to the sky2_id_table array in sky2.c. So far, I've made do by manually patching the sky2.ko file, but having the NIC work out of the box would be nice, especially since it's the only NIC on the motherboard I have (Gigabyte GA-965P-S3), and I don't expect that most users are able to add support for the NIC themselves. -- Marvell 88E8056 gigabyte LAN interface on asus p5b doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/62206 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 72166] autosuspend breaks if there are 2+ X ssessions
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kpowersave Kpowersave has e really nice feature that lets you configure it to autosuspend to disk or RAM if the computer is idle for some time. However, if I log in and later leave the computer and it autosuspends to RAM then if my girlfriend wakes it up and starts a new session for herself the computer will suspend when my login, the first one, is determined to have been idle for some time. This happens in the middle of her work. She then wakes the computer up again but it immediately suspends again because my own session is determined to be idle. I think kpowersave should somehow determine if another session is active and not suspend the computer if that is the case. It is a really annoying bug and my girlfriends only option if I'm not home is to reboot to get me logged out as I don't share my password. ** Affects: kpowersave (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- autosuspend breaks if there are 2+ X ssessions https://launchpad.net/bugs/72166 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 73460] Network interfaces keeps changing around...
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-10-server I have a gateway server running 6.10 server, where I have three NICs, two of them are identical. Sorry, my above comment got posted before I was done writing. Before applying Malcolm's patch, I got: start: Job failed to start when I tried to start statd. I am affected by the same bug, although the X error message is slightly different ("parse_vt_settings: Cannot open /dev/tty0" instead of "xf86OpenConsole: " ...) In /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config I have tried to replaced allowed_users=console with allowed_users=anybody and in this file I also tried the option need_root_rights = yes but both attempts had no visible consequences. I have looked at the workaround for koda posted above, but I am unable to extract the bits that may make it help in my case. Perhaps someone can give suggestions to me based on the posted workaround. The program I want to run in its own Xserver is a game, so all the systemd stuff in the workaround is not that relevant to me. [Bug 1646485] [NEW] security update regression in 'convert' tool when creating an image containing a text label
Public bug reported: Running the following command doesn't work anymore: convert -background transparent -fill black -pointsize 32 label:test out.png when libmagickcore4-8:6.6.9.7-5ubuntu3.6 is installed. [Bug 1175897] Re: PPTP VPN Service failed to start after upgrade to 13.04
I just got this working on my system. I have ubuntu 13.04 in a vm running on a windows host using virtualbox. I randomly changed the networking this morning from a NATed interface to a bridged interface and I changed the emulated network device from the Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop to the PCnet-FAST III adapter. And tonight I connected with my pptp vpn in the ubuntu vm no problem. [Bug 911783] Re: Mumble hangs when trying to connect
We're hoping to fix this upstream as soon as we can. The hang happens inside avahi's libdns_sd compat library. The library gets in a weird state because of a seemingly wrong readyRead() by a QSocketNotifier in Mumble's Bonjour code. We haven't found the root cause of it yet, though, but we hope we will soon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/911783 Title: Mumble hangs when trying to connect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mumble/+bug/911783/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
