Hi Jeremy, thanks for your information and concern. This is no issue for me any more. It turned out that, after upgrade (and some of the following updates) had to be altered manually each time output jack --> headphone via alsamixer. Also, the right channel had been set to 'mute' by the upgrade to 9.10. Kind regards, Thomas (aka 'kein Trinkwasser') > Can you > try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? [Bug 453382] [NEW] keditbookmarks crashes during cut+paste - data loss
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-bin lsb_release -rd Ubuntu karmic (development branch) [kubuntu 9.10 karmic koala beta] while editing bookmarks, keditbookmarks crashes upon paste action. sometimes, not really predictably as it seems. reproducible crash happens when another bookmark is left-klicked before paste. pasted bookmark goes lost then. place of pasted bookmark seems not really predictable. being merely a user, I suspect this bug being the same, never solved issue since bug # 280727 8.10 beta bug # 181856 'keditbookmark crashes ...' in 9.04 bug # 353806 which are concerning all more or less the same: editing and organizing bookmarks ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Oct 16 18:34:58 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/keditbookmarks LiveMediaBuild: Kubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Beta amd64 (20090930) Package: kdebase-bin 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash LANGUAGE= ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-11.36-generic SourcePackage: kdebase Uname: Linux 2.6.31-11-generic x86_64 ** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug -- keditbookmarks crashes during cut+paste - data loss https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/453382 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 454502] [NEW] No sound available with HDA Intel (ALC260 Analog)
Public bug reported: Kubuntu 9.10 beta [Live DVD] no sound available (System sounds, Amarok, ...). Yesterday (not today) additional message 'pulse audio not running' appeared. System Settings = use KDE-SoundSystem. Testing sounds of the system messages produces no sound at all, not even a crack. Tried to fill in 'pulse audio' as an external player - without success.
