Under Kubuntu 9.10 RC, this sound controller is recognized as 'HDA Intel (ALC
260 Analog)' and doesn't produce any sound. The there available alternative
'PulseAudio' doesn't work, too.
Sound hardware working properly both under (32-bit) Ubuntu 8.04
AND
Kubuntu 8.04 - HDA Intel as well as PulseAudio

what is asked to check when encountering sound problems, but didn't help:

/proc/asound/card*/*codec*[...]
grep: /proc/asound/card*/*codec*/*: No such file or directory
perhaps because I use a Live DVD?
