[Bug 872977] [NEW] Minimizing a window breaks QComboBox in 11.10
Public bug reported: I run into this while using Qt-based Fleeting Password Manager (2.6) in 11.10. The problem can be reproduced when I minimize and maximize the app, possibly a couple of times. After that the combobox showing saved logins cannot be opened anymore. Its selection list is invisible. It works again after restarting the app. This might be a problem in Unity (or a Qt problem?), because I think that QComboBox tries to open a small window when it's opened and for some reason that fails. There's no way the application can recover from this + and it must be restarted. - Test program can be found in here: - https://sourceforge.net/projects/fleetingpm/ - + See the attachment for a test case (added in comment #3). + $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 $ apt-cache policy unity unity: - Installed: 4.22.0-0ubuntu3 - Candidate: 4.22.0-0ubuntu3 + Installed: 4.22.0-0ubuntu3 + Candidate: 4.22.0-0ubuntu3 $ apt-cache policy libqt4-core libqt4-core: - Installed: 4:4.7.4-0ubuntu8 - Candidate: 4:4.7.4-0ubuntu8 + Installed: 4:4.7.4-0ubuntu8 + Candidate: 4:4.7.4-0ubuntu8 $ lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub (rev 03) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) (rev 03) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (secondary) (rev 03) 00:1a.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 03) 00:1a.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 (rev 03) 00:1a.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 03) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 2 (rev 03) 00:1c.2 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 3 (rev 03) 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 03) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge (rev f3) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801HEM (ICH8M) LPC Interface Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) IDE Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) SATA IDE Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) SMBus Controller (rev 03) 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetLink BCM5787M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express (rev 02) 04:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01) 0f:06.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Cardbus Controller 0f:06.1 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Texas Instruments PCIxx12 OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller 0f:06.2 Mass storage controller: Texas Instruments 5-in-1 Multimedia Card Reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS PRO/xD) 0f:06.3 SD Host controller: Texas Instruments PCIxx12 SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/872977 Title: Minimizing a window breaks QComboBox in 11.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/872977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 804382] [NEW] "Requires installation of untrusted packages"-dialog is confusing
Public bug reported: The problem is that Update Manager refuses to update the system and instead shows a dialog "Requires installation of untrusted packages". This dialog is confusing, because it doesn't explain what the user should do. The only option given is to click "Close" and the update is canceled. The details box is useless since it apparently just lists the packages it was going to update. I have no idea what those "untrusted packages" might be. Should I disable a source? Uninstall a package? [Bug 807768] [NEW] [needs packaging] fleetingpm
Public bug reported: Fleeting Password Manager is a program that generates pseudo-random passwords from given master password, URL/ID and user name. The master password should be common for all passwords and URL/ID should be the url of the service (e.g. www.facebook.com) or some part of it (e.g. facebook). Fleeting Password Manager then combines the master password, URL/ID and the given user name and generates the corresponding login password. The user then changes her password to the one generated by Fleeting Password Manager. The user needs to remember only her master password. Other passwords are always generated on-the-fly from the given login data when needed. URL: https://sourceforge.net/projects/fleetingpm License: GPLv3 Notes: Qt-program, uses Git as version control, experimental CDBS-based packaging in "ubuntu" branch. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: needs-packaging ** Summary changed: - fleetingpm + [needs packaging] fleetingpm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/807768 Title: [needs packaging] fleetingpm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/807768/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 777315] [NEW] Unity desktop freezes when unmounting memory card
Public bug reported: I can reproduce a complete freeze like this: 1) Have an SDHC memory card attached to an external USB card reader (I have the card reader also connected to a hub). 2) Click and start playing a MOV-video (size of my video is around 300 MB) from the card using the default movie player (Totem). 3) Try to safely remove the card while still playing. A dialog is opened saying that movie player is still using the card. 4) Let the dialog be and instead right-click movie player icon on the Unity launcher and close it. 5) Memory card is now unmounted and right after everything freezes.
