Steps to reproduce (on my laptop with Intel graphics and 11.10 this happens
10/10):
1) Open the desktop switcher
2) Open a new application instance from the launcher (e.g. middle-click)
What happens is that the window opens nowhere and it cannot be activated
by clicking the corresponding icon. And when I right-click on the
application icon the context menu with "Keep in launcher" and "Quit"
sometimes freezes and is visible forever.
