Public bug reported:

I found this in my kernel log when inserting Nokia CS-17 mobile
broadband USB modem (Type: RD-13, Model: CS-17):

[25163.120051] usb 2-1: new high-speed USB device number 5 using ehci_hcd
[25163.253748] scsi6 : usb-storage 2-1:1.0

PQ: 0 ANSI: 0

[25164.256366] sr 6:0:0:0: Attached scsi CD-ROM sr1
[25164.256584] sr 6:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg2 type 5
[25165.495518] usb_modeswitch_[14773]: segfault at 0 ip 00189fc1 sp bf97aad0
error 4 in libc-2.13.so[110000+179000]

[25165.656942] sr: Sense Key : Hardware Error [current]
[25165.656946] sr: Add. Sense: No additional sense information

...and no surprise it didn't work. If I recall correctly, on 11.04 it
almost worked, meaning that the led on the device was blinking and it
tried to connect, but the connection was always dropped for some reason.
