[SM-USERS] Forwarded attachments show up as text
Hi all, then I send me an email from Outlook with an attachment, in this example a jpg file, to my SM account I can open it with SM an view it. If I now forward the mail to any other account in the world, then the recepient gets an output like this: /9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQEAYABgAAD/2wBDAAgGBgcGBQgHBwcJCQgKDBQNDAsLDBkSEw8UHRofHh0aHBwgJC4nICIsIxwcKDcpLDAxNDQ0Hyc5PTgyPC4zNDL/2wBDAQkJCQwLDBgNDRgyIRwhMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjIyMjL/wAARCAHgAoADASIAAhEBAxEB/8QAHwAAAQUBAQEBAQEAAAECAwQFBgcICQoL I can also forward the jpg file from one SM account to another, the result is the same. So why I cant forward mails with attachments, any idea? What is happening with the mail when forwarding it? Why is SM changing the attachment to UUencode? I should be able to forward mails with attachments within SM and to see the attachment as they are and not UUencoded, shouldn't I? Your help is much appreciated. [SM-USERS] Development roadmap: 1.2.11 vs 1.40
Is 1.4.x going to be the follow-on to the 1.2.x versions? I'm not sure if both these versions are proceeding in parallel, or if the 1.2.x versions will be replaced by 1.4.x. I'm curious because the release date on 1.2.11 is newer than that for 1.4.0. I'll be upgrading soon from 1.2.8... is it best to skip 1.2.11 and go directly to 1.4.0? How stable is the 1.4.0 "candidate?" I'd prefer not to go through 1.2.11 if we'll all end up at 1.4.0 anyway. Thanks! Solved!! Re: [SM-USERS] [SLE] Nasty Squirrelmail problem. User pref files are overwritten !! People are
Hi guys, I think I've isolated and I found a workaround for the the problem, of which I can repeatedly reproduce now. If two users access their mail from same browser even logging out, their session data gets mixed. However if the user access from another computer it's again ok. The problem shows up if the user changes anything in their prefs. Then the problem is persisted, written to disk. In my setup SuSE 7.3 php 4.0.4 some damn idiot (probably me..ummm definetly me) turned on the register globals parameter in php.ini. Actually this was for some other application to work. After having the other application non global friendly now it works ok. No user sessions are mixing up. This is valid for all the versions including 1.4.x on this specific setup. It was a serious flaw because people were getting other's mails because of whatis (over)written as reply-to address in their prefs. I hope this gives a hint to developers. After turning of register globals it didn't happen as far as I know, but still watching closely. Thanks a lot for your prompt responses. I had released 1.2.11 shortly after the 1.4RC2a release... This does seem a little confusing until you read the reason for it's release. The 1.2 branch is only going to be maintained in respect of big bugs, and security issues. I'll probably continue to maintain parts of that myself, with maybe Thijs doing a little work if he's up to it. 1.4 is the way we're heading, and will be the next release. Any further releases from 1.2 will be bug fixes and security updates. > I'll be upgrading soon from 1.2.8... is it best to skip 1.2.11 and > go directly to 1.4.0? How stable is the 1.4.0 "candidate?" RE: [SM-USERS] Vacation plugin and mysql virtual users
The mail_fwd plugin allows you to use a mysql backend to store forwarding information. I have not personally dealt with the vacation thing, although will be doing so in the next couple weeks. The hard part is getting a vacation script running in your environment that can successfully deal with virtual users... there are no standard solutions, but many people have done it. I personally already know how I will do it, and if one of the SM plugins doesn't work, I will modify one of them (or create a new one) to work against mysql. I'd be glad to work with you on this or keep you posted of my status. - paul > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Melissa > Meyer > Sent: Thursday, March 06, 2003 5:04 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [SM-USERS] Vacation plugin and mysql virtual users > > Does anyone have any experience with running Squirrelmail to access > virtual users on a mail server in mysql tables and also successfully > use the Squirrelmail vacation plugin to update .forward and vacation.xx > (or their equivalent in mysql tables) files?
