I get this as well. In fact, you don't even need to go up and down
directories, just focus the directory selection panel (say, click a
normal file, all of which are greyed out) and then click extract and
it'll work.

up and start using 60%-100% of the CPU. It actually for some reason has
two instances of winbindd running, each using between 60% and 100% of

I've had this too. I've got ATI X800SE and im running dapper x86_64. I tried
both fglrx driver and radeon ('ati' driver has never worked with my card since

I have a USB keyboard and I was experiencing this key-repeat problem on
Feisty 2.6.20-16-generic with no Xgl or Compiz. After a while I noticed
that whenever I had a key repeat, my USB mouse LED blinked as well. The
key repeat occurrences were correlated with a message in dmesg like the

My Kubuntu system is affected, too. Adept updater indicated 4 new packages this
morning. After update was complete, a new Konqueror session wouldn't load. I
restarted X, and wouldn't let me past KDM.

I still haven't isolated what's causing this bug, but it tends to occur
much more frequently when there are more windows in the standard Window
List applet (eg > 7 or 8). Things can be stable for 24+ hours with less
than ~ 7 windows listed ... once there are ~7 or more windows the
(possible) memory
These are slightly different symptoms (but similar) to what I see. When
the panel locks up, window switching with alt-Tab works fine, and when
gnome-panel is killed in a terminal (eg $ killall gnome-panel ) it
mostly restarts okay (although sometimes it hangs again immediately,
sometimes not). Swit

Yes, I can confirm this behavior exactly. The bug only occurs when there
are >8 windows in the window list and it is positioned on a left of
right vertical panel. Thanks for spotting this Mr_C the workaround
is to put the window list applet on a bottom or top panel.

evolution-alarm-notify kept sneaking it's way back on, so I hadn't had a
chance for a proper test over a couple of days. I uninstalled evolution
(and evolution-alarm-notify) just to ensure it was off, and I haven't
seen the bug since. I'll give it a few more days, then reinstall

The ubiquity GUI might actually be 800, but this doesn't take into
effect the GNOME panels being both above and below, causing the GUI to
be too large. It should be a simple fix as long as the widgets aren't
static.

This bug only occurs when dragging files from file-roller to a Nautilus
window when the Nautilus view mode is "View as List".
Drag and drop from file-roller works fine when Nautilus view is "View as
Icons", or onto the Desktop.
File Roller 2.20.1, Nautilus 2.20.1 on Gutsy.

Clean feisty beta install.
Was skipping through songs with multimedia keys (mapped to XF86AudioNext
etc with xmodmap and then to next song with gnome shortcuts). Rhythmbox
in system tray. Haven't worked out how to reproduce it, but thought the
/dev/sdb is the SATA drive. See if you have /dev/hda which would be your
IDE drive.
