I see where the problem lies.  All the changes I make never take.  I
even ran sudo displayconfig-gtk with no luck.  When I add the
displayconfig-gtk to the bottom of xorg.conf and restart x, it fails to
load x.  I tak ethe last line out and it boots like before with only one
screen.  Not sure why it won't take the changes. I have loadd 7.10 back
on my machine to help in toubleshooting this problem and will try to
leave it on for a while.
