Sorry, my previous message went out accidentally (too many "inteligent

Hello everyone,

sorry for bringing up a topic that was recently discussed and apparently
should already have be understood. But I did not get any clue.
My naked question: Ho do I set up Crafty (and phalanx) to play against? I
wonder how it happens, I can analyze with them but not to play against them.
Since crafty and phalanx are not UCI machines, it seems, the answer is
polyglot. Isn't it? But I could not start any action with the explanation
that Alexander Wagner gave
http://www.mail-archive.com/scid-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg03692.html
My problem is that the example is given with Toga, which is already a UCI
machine, as Fruit is, and I think, it should not need any "translation"
through polyglot. Or do I miss something? Besides, the polyglot page says
that "PolyGlot is a 'UCI adapter". It connects a UCI chess engine to an
xboard interface'. It does not say a word about how to connect xboard
machines to UCI interfaces. I myself have used polyglot to play over xboard
against Fruit.

So, how do I "wire" crafty in scid to play against it? Either "seriously" or
"tactically"?

Thanks a lot,

Fernando
