Where've you read this, Mike? I don't recall *ever* seeing that recommendation. Early 2.4 kernels *strongly* recommended (required?) 2xRAM for swap, but that has gone away over time. My personal rule-of-thumb is: - Minimum of 64MB swap - 2xRAM if RAM is between 32MB and 256MB - Greater of 512MB or 1xRAM if RAM >256MB -- Rodolfo J.
