you can change where up2date chucks its stuff before  the actuall instal..
by edditing this file

/etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date

unless this is a server and your feeling anal about possible security
issues with partitioning problems etc..i would go with
256megs for swap
50 megs for boot
and the rest of the hard disk for /

this configuration allows for alot of different things you can do...
