I didn't intervene too much in this discussion, but I personnaly get tired also
with messages saying that even so many people (including myself) have trouble
with the installer it is because THEY are stupid. Maybe someoone could aknowledge
that some improvements could be made ???
An installer is there to help. If it doesn't do it well, it might also
be part of its fault.
As I said, there are quite stupid things in there. One is the Server install : what is
the point of putting this in front of everybody ??? Some people WILL USE IT even they
don't know better. OTOH, a guy supposedly able to setup and administrate a server
is certainly able to use the custom method (or if he is not, the server method is
obvioulsy
not the answer).
I could notice a lot of wrong things with the way 6.1 is installed (I use custom, I am
very
probably a very dumb guy too). But I think there are a lot of people as dumb as I am
around,
and only pointing out their stupidity is not a way to improve the quality of
something (the installer) which is supposed to help these kind of people.
