I have to do hiring for my company, and one of our team left. Like 'nate' I'm in Seattle too, and when we place an advert in the news-paper we see 200+ applications, we get 20+ year C devs looking for work doing web/php dev work! When looking I'm not so focused on certs...IMHO its all experience that counts. My resume tip: demonstrate increasing skills and responsibility -- that shows you are motivated and can educate yourself.
