<chuckle> Yeah, I hear that. I try to make it clear that I'm a contractor, and relocating just goes with the territory, "AND" point out that I'm willing to relocate at my own expense. It makes a difference to some employers. Some, and just cheap, and don't want to pay expensive relocation expenses. If you have a family, and a home, that can add up.
Short side is: When you're looking for work, it's the employers market right now. There are LOTS of IT people out of work, and only so many jobs to go around. So far, I've never had to resort to using the phrase "Would you like fries with that?" in the course of my work day. But when you need to feed the family, don't get too picky when the market is like it is now.
