The local camera club here is made up of Canonites and the De facto
leader is a Canon bigot. Everybody it seems must own Canon equipment
even if it's the cheapest D-Rebel made with the crappiest kit lens,
otherwise they won't be truly accepted. I felt decidedly unwelcome,
(classic lenses, why they can't work they're not NEWWW improved and
"specially designed" for digital). I once pointed out to said bigot
the while Canon had very nice lenses in the normal tp telephoto range
that their wide angles for the most part hoovered. I thought I'd be
stoned, and not in a good way.

I am thinking hard about joining. I would think this might help me get
going again.
I know some of us here have been or are members of a club, just
wondering what the consensus is of these things.
My fear is that these people stay up later than i do and my want to do
sunsets.:-)

Don't lose heart! They might want to cut it out, and they'll want to avoid a
lengthily search.
