Dave, most Flickr features can only be accessed by account holders, so firstly create a free account. Fill out your profile at least minimally; eg add a profile pic, otherwise you'll be taken for a troll; upload a few representative shots.
Then go to this link and use the Search field with a few locales (Markham, Stouffville). http://www.flickr.com/groups/ Here's one: http://www.flickr.com/groups/mpcshooters/ Of course the Toronto groups will be much larger. Might be worth following one or two to see when they do a walk up closer to you. Most of the better organized groups also have Facebook pages so you could follow those too (or instead). The Mississauga group I keep an eye on is: http://www.flickr.com/groups/mississaugapictures/ It's been quiet lately as the main organizer is in poor health. But others step up from time to time.
