Darren,
I owned this lens for a while, then sold it. Of all the lenses I've
sold, this is the only one I truly regret letting go of. I never had
the 1:1 adapter, but performance down to 1:2 was superb, even wide
open, which meant it made a fantastic portrait lens too. This is one
of those lenses that bestowed a special "something", impossible to
pinpoint or describe, to the pics taken with it.
I've been on the lookout for a replacement for over a year, but they
are rare on the used market, and never at prices I can justify (I
already own a 77 Ltd and a Sigma 105mm macro). I hope you know that
$140 is an incredibly low price. I've seen the 1:1 adapter on its own
sell for that much.
