I was on a consulting gig, and a HP RAID system had a drive go out. Live was going on nicely. The RED LED glowed nicely on the dead drive. The HP CE (Customer Engineer) came in to replace it on a 7x24 2 hour contract. He replaced the wrong drive. We lost almost a week of user data. (Customer didn't want to backup more than we insisted on... RAID is 'safe'... Right?) This place did drafting with about 80 full time electronic drafts people onsite 8-5 plus this was in the middle of a big project where they were paying overtime.
HP had a new 'engineer' on the account within the hour. I don't know if he lost his job. The company I was contracting for would have like to have seen him publically drawn and quartered. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
