Dear Marta,
I wouldn’t advise the Nextengine. Too slow and underpowered and I have
heard that they are now out of business. The Konica Minolta scanner is very
old now (I think you can only get it second hand).

Polyga Carbon, Einscan HX, Gom, Peel s2 m/Creaform scanners are all
brands/models that you should consider for digititising a wide size range.
It will require getting some demos from distributors and talking to the
members of your lab who’ll do most of the digitising as to their preference
after this as this will drive how efficiently the kit is used. If you buy
something that is a bit cheaper/more expensive but everyone hates using,
then you won’t get good value from your purchase.
Some come with hard cases, some don’t, turntables are generally charged
extra (usually around €1000) and you should budget for software maintenance
as well.
For prices, you need to ask dealers in France, as there is local variation
and sometimes distributors are able to make offers in one country that they
cannot in another country. Costs will vary, depending on whether you buy an
adjustable scanner or 2 with fixed fields of view.
You definitely need to have high speed laptops (think the type that gamers
use) and preferably a desktop for in the lab too.

In my lab I’ve just bought a Polyga S1 specifically for small objects (down
to ~2cm) and an Artec space spider for objects over 10cm. Both brands offer
good support and regular software updates-I went for this setup as I’m
familiar with both companies’ products and know the learning curve won’t be
too steep for my students/colleagues.
I hope that helps!
