I think it's not a matter of power, but rather persuasion.

We certainly would rather have open drivers but sometimes the IP vendor has 
different business model and it just doesn't work to apply brute force.

And obviously somebody who enjoys a monopoly position (regardless of the 
reasons) is less willing to give up on anything.

One of the strenghts of open source is to not be in a hurry: if something makes 
sense, it will eventually prevail.

Currently I think OpenMoko has proven that there is no market for Open but 
underperforming products.

Consumers vote with their wallet and both nokia and Intel need to listen to 
them, otherwise goodbye predominant position.

So we need to come to compromises sometimes. But I believe I can state, without 
fear of being proven wrong, that we are going in the right direction and this 
istestified by the N900 kernel being untainted.

It just takes time, patience and perseverance.
