thats strange, I have never had problems getting 9 to boot on any of my pci powermacs.

This is with multiple copies of 9 so, to me, it's the fault of the os not the computer. I have read in the powerbook group that 9 is bootable but I never could get it to do this. I would suggest borrowing the 8.6 then upgrading to 9.
