HI.
i have talked with him before about running a machine on os x but the ordeal now is more that all his files are on a hard drive that wont boot. I used to have an upgraded 9600 as well so fixing things was easy cause we had 2 pretty much identical machines but now i have a 1ghz g4. so things are not quite the same.
I have other scsi drives but no OS disks. im pretty sure i have norton disk doctor somewhere so my plan is pretty much to install os 9 on a different drive, boot from it and then examine the other drive from there. Maybe the drive is pooched but i doubt it. I *think* what happened was that the computer crashed or froze up while he was printing something and then he turned it off with the power bar and then when he turned it back on we now get the flashing question mark in the file folder icon. The drive is still powering up ok and spinning.
If anyone would be willing to send me a copy express post i could paypal you the postage as well. and then send it back to you of course.
thanks for your help.
scott.

So you need a copy of 9.0 or 9.1 (9.0 can be upgraded via downloads
to 9.1) since 9.2 will not work on the 9600 unless you mess with it via
something like "OS 9 Helper" - but it looks like you need to start with a
working copy of 9.1:
