Except then KDElibs depends on cmake 2.8.6 ;) Also I am not sure automoc is what makes it "not easy" but rather a combination of things. Perhaps the biggest one is actually getting the deps found by cmake. At least that is what I have trouble with whenever I try to get Phonon+Backend built on Windows.
