Not sure what caused it. I did a series of logouts and logins back to same user while debugging different issue, and after one of logins some settings were reset. Following settings were reset for me: desktop wallpaper desktop icons size all desktop icon positions Following settings were left intact: desktop panels configuration Since I don't use desktop widgets I have no idea if they'd be reset as well. I've tried doing a bit more of similar logouts and logins but was unable to reproduce it once more.
