Hi Elimar,

yes, it seems you were right about the conflict with
the debian multimedia packages:

I installed aptitude on my notebook at home.

On Friday 16 March 2012 at 18:48 you wrote (riese...@lxtec.de):

The result was at first:

not seem to exist in Debian Multimedia), and it removed heaps of
stuff from there.

After that the list was reduced to the following:

 ... and moc is playing mp3s !!!!!

However, I do not know, if I want to achieve this by ...
,-----[ apt-get ]---------------------------------------------------
| Removing dvdrip ...
| Removing dvdstyler ...
| Removing ffmpeg ...
| Removing subtitleripper ...
| Removing transcode ...
| Removing mjpegtools ...
| Removing libmjpegtools-2.0-0 ...

| Removing libavdevice53 ...
| Removing libavfilter2 ...
| Removing libwxsvg0 ...
| Removing libswscale2 ...
| Removing libswresample0 ...
| Removing libpostproc52 ...
`-----------------------------------------------------------------------

 Anyway, that's another problem.
Scientifically speaking, the cause of the moc problem has been found.

Do you think it would be possible to make moc do what mpg123, play,
mplayer & others are able to do, that is: playing mp3s using (or at
least coexisting with) the debian multimedia plugins / libraries / whatever?

     Kind regards
        Petra
