Hi Fantonifabio. I found installing either python3-pam or python3-six solved the problem. The Cinnamon Control Center does run after I have installed either program.
But the problem is that python3-pam and python3-six are not installed along with the Cinnamon Desktop or with Cinnamon-Core which is the minimal Cinnamon Desktop. And that is the problem because new users as well as regular users are not going to know that to get the Cinnamon Control Center working they have to install those 2 programs. So when users install Cinnamon and find that the Control Center is not working they are not going to know how to fix it. So the Debian Team need to include either python3-pm or python3-six in the installation of both the full Cinnamon Desktop and Cinnamon Core. Otherwise the Cinnamon Control Center won't run. Because we cannot expect users to go searching for the missing libraries that are needed to run the Cinnamon desktop and they shouldn't have to do that. So that is something that the Debian Team have to sort out. I know that when you install a program or a desktop environment certain other programs that are needed to run the software or desktop are included in the install and are automatically installed as well. So it would be easy for the Debian Team to just update Cinnamon to include either python3-six or python3-pam along with the other programs that are bundled with the Cinnamon Desktop. I am not using the Cinnamon Desktop now because I removed it when the Control Center stopped working. So I now have the Mate Desktop instead. But I think that the 2 programs that are needed to run the control center do need to be included in the Cinnamon Desktop packages. This needs to be done before Debian Trixie is released as the next Debian Stable. That is my recommendation. *Andrea Borman.*
