moreover webdesign principles are a bit different because most users spend
very little time on a web page. I.E it's a special case since web users
never become proficient in the particular website and don't spend hours
there

Again, you should read some more about ergonomics. Users are terrible at
describing how they work, and even worse at finding good, generic,
solutions to ergonomic problems.
the right way to do it is to do statistics on usage and interviews that are
analyzed by ergonomic specialists. The problems described by users are the
base to find design problems but should not be trusted as such, just like
patients should be trusted to describe symptoms but not diagnose diseases
