Hi: I'm a NOOB and knowing what to do at the time I made the Bug report was not the kind of knowledge I had. Security? What does that mean, when you have Autism, then it is very hard to figure this out. So to find out what the button meant I pressed it to see what would happen. We have a very hard time with Hints, like this! The main problem was that in synaptic ADD CD does not work any more. This was the Main Problem. I've read recently where someone with a laptop, found this same error in 7.10 Ubuntu. In 6.06 I used to buy all the repositories on DVD, and it worked for making up grades and installing new software, because dial up is too slow for that. Now I get an error saying it can not mount the CD or DVD when Nautilus can and does. I learn about things differently then you do!
That is why I filed the Bug Report! We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find. -- Synaptic add cd does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243866 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
