Additional Information:
I installed Ubuntu 25.04 on a spare SSD. The problem does not exist 
under 25.05.

The symptoms under 22.04 include erratic response to the keyboard in the 
terminal. sometimes there is ~ 1 second between a key press and the 
response in the termina.

I can not update to 25.04 at this time.
