Yes, certainly the next LTS should not have this bug anymore.  It will
have its own, new and shiny bugs ;-)

Any release after o-release (I believe oracular or something like that)
should not exhibit the problem you unfortunately experienced.  That's
why the ticket itself was set to fix released.  To get a fix into an
earlier version, the customary thing to do is to add for example a
"noble" task to the very same ticket that is then separately tracked as
"open" or "confirmed" or again "fix released".

I am happy to hear you successfully installed a more recent version and
thus are hopefully having a better experience now.
